Hunter Douglas Duette Architella Shades

Wow ! Am I ever glad this job is installed ! The installation took a really tall scaffolding.

These Hunter Douglas Duette Architella cellular shades were installed at the Plymouth County Historical Museum in LeMars, Iowa. The museum was formally the LeMars Community School years ago and has been renovated into a museum for Plymouth County.

This room was located on the fourth floor of the building and was once known as the study hall. To help the energy efficiency of this room the Duette Architella shades were installed on all the windows. The Duette Architella cellular shades offer one of the highest energy efficiency treatments. They can reduce energy loss through windows by up to 50%. The day of installation it was bitter cold and it was truly unbelievable when I lowered these shades and found how much cool air it was retaining out of the room. These shades will also work well in the summer as this was a west exposure the sun maintains this side of the building for quite some time and the shades will help reduce the heat entering the room in the heat of the summer.

I enjoyed working with the committee on these windows and have found this museum to really be and interesting place to visit. There's lots of history in this building, it features five floors of local heritage exhibits in a former school building that is over 100 years old.
