A Simple Roman Shade Valance

This top treatment I call the roman shade valance. My client wanted a nice tailored look for your kitchen without a lot of fuss.

Her dishes were deep red, olive green, golden yellow and ivory. This fabric picked up every color that she was looking for in her kitchen.

The topper had three folds towards the lower edge of the top treatment , just enough to give it a little dimension without distorting the pattern too much. This valance didn't take a lot of fabric to fabricate, it was attached with velcro to the top board for easy take down if it needed to be dry cleaned.

Underneath the top treatment we decided on a Hunter Douglas Designer Screen shade that could be raised and lowered as needed for privacy and sunlight. This shade filtered the light and it will be very easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth. My client was very pleased with the final treatments !
